Project title: zombie unity game
Format: 3d unity
Describe the product you produced?(Describe your full production process, in detail- This includes your initial ideas, ways you conducted primary and secondary research, pre production planning, production and post production stages )
My game is a zombie game where the character originally escapes zombie horde chasing him however he needed to leave his home town of Brimwater due to the zombies taking over Brimwater completely who are led by Ethan Graves who manages to break through the closet what was enclosed by rubble due to the reactor shutting down and malfunctioning and rules over the zombies by his command. The zombies became undead because of radiation due to some nukes being exploded both sides decided to stop however it some of the radiation managed to end up at brimwater where they made the people working the reactor unconscious until they became zombies however this is where Graves becomes commander of the zombies where his brain is only affected to the point that he is still 100% conscious but still has the hunger of brains as a zombie and is able to communicate with the other zombies to take over Brimwater. While Joshua (the player character) is running from the zombies and eventually out runs them he ends up at a farm now where a farmer named Ruth lives where he gives hospitality to Joshua now its up to the player to take back Brimwater. The reason I made this zombie game is because I felt like action and horror are really popular genres to young adults because games like resident evil are popular among young adults this is shown with my Microsoft forms with people saying to my question "is this a type of game you would play if so why if not why not most common answer being" "Yes because I'm a fan of the horror genre"
With the planning I used a gannt chart what included how many hours each project will take and how much is done
My initial ideas came from a film called shaun the dead and world of warcraft shaun the dead because the characters are laid back despite the midst of chaos and world of warcraft for the style of zombie
Secondary research I included things like assets to make my game like the houses the roads
Pre production: I made story boards and I researched our focus group and that's how I ended up making a action horror game at the same time made a Gannt chart where I could track things what I have completed
Production: I made a unity game what is action horror based where the player has to eliminate Ethan graves to win the game and the town is called Brimwater
Post production: not applicable.
How have you contextualised your product?(Gender, race, class/ background of your product/ audience expectations)
I have contextualised because people are mostly male audience in the group some people do and don't have jobs but I presume they aren't high paying so I went with a more free game feel like most zombie games
What aspects of your product went well?(Describe 6 or more things that went well in the planning, production, and editing stages of your project)
I like the lore behind the game with Joshua having to run from his home then come back to take over and defeat graves and his zombies
I like the housing asset because it makes Brimwater looks haunted and cursed because there's no one to maintain Brimwater buildings and structures
I like how I made the country side with the tree assets and the mbs tool what I was able to make the barn out of because its suppose to represent a safe place for Joshua
I liked how I made the reactor where graves starts at because its muddy and a Gray area because its suppose to show where the evil has started or the epicentre of Ethan's chaos
I like the textures that I included because I was able to make Brimwater floor into concrete the reactor area floor into mud to show the ground being destroyed and the country side look green I done this so the player can separate what place is which.
What feedback did you receive from your target audience?(Describe in detail what feedback you received and your responses to your feedback. For example- Do you agree with the feedback you received? Was it helpful?)
On the Microsoft form my audience is wanting me to make the sky dark so that is what I will do
What would you do differently? ( provide at least several critical responses in terms of what you would have done now that you have reflected on your completed project)
I would of liked to of worked in a group so that I would of made more ideas and include more creative ideas into the game and to of made the Microsoft forms earlier so I could have had more advise from my focus group.

License for my work
Licenses:
I need is for unity to create the game itself with all the versions of unity.
music for the background.
Character creation and hostile creation: I don't know what I will be using at this time but most likely there will be a licence needed.

Ideas from the audience:
•Looking
at the audience its going to be a action game that is going to be at an
affordable price
•The
game would have inspiration from games like call of duty with it being a 1st person shooter
•Game
style type is unknown because we can make a game like sea of thieves what's
more cartoony or we can have a game like call of duty that looks more real
•The
idea of sci fi game I like because I can make a game from a star wars genre
•Audio
would be inspired by ac/dc being it majority rock fans in the audience
•Due
to the audience being non political it would rule out any games that involve
controversy like fallout
•The
audience mostly being uk we
could include famous uk
voice actors or people who are popular for example the rock who was born
outside the uk but
is famous
•Religion
doesn't change the game idea also with the class being majority non religious
•Updated with focus group involved:
•With
the audience preferring sci fi we would create the game based around it
•A
horror game could come in or at the very least the design of the game being of
that of something like resident evil
•Due
to the focus group preferring films that include swords I would take that idea
into account and could have a pirate like or adventure game
•Politics
wont be involved in the game due to the group previously not liking the idea of
it despite knowing what is happening around the world
•Could
include some aspects of social issues however it could inter link with politics
•With
the focus group wanting more part time jobs we could potentially increase the
price in a later point
•We
could introduce microtransactions to things like different outfits the
character can wear or things the character can design like have a cannon design
that you cant get or unless you have it if we do go for a more realistic sea of
thieves genre but include things like mythical creatures
•With
majority of the focus group using there
phones as social media we could include a bonus if they advertise it on there
page such as a boost of some kind or a advantage to start off with
•With
a majority of the focus group being social we could include merchandise later
in the life of the game
Reason of the lore
•The
reason why I choose an action horror game with zombies is because our target
audience is young adults and it lacks controversy what a lot of people in group
don't want with the lack of interest in politics.
•Things
like Shaun the dead is popular in the uk where the settings will be similar and
that will show a place that is similar like Crawley as a town
•Wont
be including a large group of people all at once or unless the character wants
to interact with people with the class having a 15% large friend group
•One
thing that I didn't include is swords as a main weapon however you are still
able to use things like batons for close range combat
•game
will include adventure like games from fallout
but the layout will be like Crawley like having things like Gatwick
airport the town centre leisure areas like k2 and wilderness of the outskirts
of Crawley
•I
added smart zombies to have a main antagonist commanding a horde of zombies
other than just a mindless horde and gives the player a target to aim at
Antagonist
•The
main commander of the horde of zombies is called Ethan graves.
•Graves
lore is that he worked in a factory that got radiated however before that he
was locked in a closet without anyone to help him and eventually died with the
lack of water and then when the reactor exploded with Ethan not being on site
the reactor imploded and everyone turned however graves is the main antagonist
out of all of them.
•Graves
escaped the closet by commanding the near by undead to help him rip down the
door and helped him escape.
Antagonist:
world of Warcraft undead can be a inspiration with the body being not
completely rotted away and it shows that
it was a human but he still craving brains to survive but is smart and
conscious enough to understand what he's doing.
Average
zombie: the inspiration will come from plants vs zombies because its
recognisable that it is a zombie however the art style will be more of the
world of warcraft because I believe that he plants vs zombies is too cartoony
Magic
zombie: this is another world of warcraft inspiration because it has the
perfect art style and has different types of undead and I'm using the ghoul as
the example because it shows that they aren't smart enough to control
themselves when shapeshifting into dust with the missing limbs being caught
while chasing brains.
Protagonist:
the protagonist would be inspired by Shaun the dead because it's a recognisable
popular character and with the audience being able to recognise him.
The
farmer ruth: ruth is a stereotypical farmer with a pitchfork that owns the farm
that Joshua left to escape the zombies from the town itself.
Inspiration: mood board
Mechanics
•The
player movement would include:
Walking, sprinting, climbing fighting:
•If
the character is holding a gun he would be able to aim it at an enemy and some weapons would have
scopes like snipers
•The
player can hold other things not just guns the player can hold bombs and types
of med kit if the character is low on health
•Settings
wise the player would be able to change it but it would be the average wasd keys
if he is walking and the spring would be control key
•The
game is quest based that can contain side quests like mentioning the Winchester
pub as a easter egg the end game is where you kill Ethan graves then the undead
will become statues and would crumble into little bits of flesh and bones
Ideas of the map itself
•The
map is inspired by Crawley due to it being a majority where everyone lives
within the audience so this would include a high street where the pubs are and
the main centre where Ethan graves conducts his terror outside of that is where
the player starts in the farm however its nearby a nuclear reactor where the
horde of zombies will be slowly advancing to your position however they can
still feel that you are a survivor north to the farm is the reactor that I was
talking about where graves was locked in however he has abandoned that position
but has left a sizable army of undead force.
•The
town name will be called Brimwater.
Cultural aspects of my game
With the game being based on Shuan the dead and Chernobyl I have 3 aspects that I have come up with what is relevant with my game.
Shaun the dead shows the British attitude on a bad situation where people don't care and carry on with there day no matter what.
Chernobyl comes from the fact that the reactors create zombies from the radiation and some fallout from some nuclear bombs and it's the most well known nuclear reactor disaster and there was even a tv series about it with Chernobyl.
The average zombie film it includes loads of zombies and a destroyed city and that's the backbone of my game idea.
Airplane context
Technological
•Despite
there being no cgi or
any modern technology involved they still included special effects such as
sound effect what was popular around that era not just within the airplane
series and this film as it self
Economic
•Economically
the film was on a tight budget despite being with paramount they only had $3.5
million to use to make the film despite that they made $171 million
Political
•There was references of the cold war when the piolet had flash backs of war.
During the scene where they were in trouble and showing the TV as the main news source it showed stereotypes and what they thought of people at the time
In the radio tower during the landing scene it shows people who are addicts are shown as crazy people as one of the radio people fall out the tower and this is relevant due to the war on drugs being relatively recent
The
jive scene
Cultural
The
inspiration of this film came from zero hour what they thought was funny to
include and produced there own ideas as well
News
being spread via tv rather than social
media as is it is
Back
in the day the used radio boxes rather than a dj set in clubs in the staying alive scene
They
used music to make the scene more dramatic for example where they have bring in
the war piolet to control the plane who has never flew on a commercial
plane
Smoking
inside clubs are legal and common place compared to today where its illegal
Social and behavioral
The social and behavioral aspect of the film is chaotic due to the original captain being sick due to the fish and everyone on else on board who had fish got sick and when it was announced chaos erupted with people climbing over each other then calm resumed when they were able to get a autopilot
Outside
the airplane there's a scene with paparazzi with one of the people working to
try and help land the plane what is even relatable today with famous people
being swarmed when they are seen in public
People
panicking over the airport terminal over the plane and moving at the same time
to different terminals what is like today's time.
Environmental
Then
environment itself is on a plane where there is hazardous weather with rain and
lightning with the filming aspect some parts would have been filmed in the
airport as well and the most important part of the airport other than the plane
shattering the glass was bringing a
actual piolet into the communication area to contact the piolet who only knew
how to fly small airplanes unlike a commercial plane
Outside
of the film and the wider public aspect of it the environment wasn't a known
issue like it is today
